This is a low-poly bedroom that I made in Blender. It features a lot of tiny props and objects such as a shelf, containing a replica of the MCU Tesseract, some games for the Nintendo Switch, a couple of small potted plants, glas bottles and some books. Another point of interest is the bed wich has not only a Switch drapet atop of it, but also two delicious sandwiches with a handful of chips.
Workflow:
I first started of with three planes that I just cheaply merged together and cut a hole in (for the window). After I gave them some depth to look more like actual walls, I was ready to go for some sweet interior design. The two major furniture parts (the bed and the shelf) started out as simple cubes. I knew pretty early on that I wanted some sort of melee weapon placed inside the room. So naturally a sword is always a good way to kick things of. Originally it was more aqamarine in resemblence to a "real-world" diamond sword. Eventually I changed the texture to a normal metal, because it suited the color palatte far better. It also stole the Tesseract who has a similar color too much of the show.
A surprisingly big challenge i faced in the beginning was the scale and the proportions. Originally a lot of assets were far too big and clunky. After I got to fix that problem with some measuring it was mostly just adding details and images (such as the two posters und the printed vinyl).
For the light I wanted to relie on emissive textures (the Tesseract, the Switch display, the shelf lamp and the fairy lights), but it turned out that these were not enough. After I added some supporting lightning sources I was pretty happy with the whole ambience they created. Especially after adding a fifth light outside the room on the left hand to create this slight magenta glow to contrast the yellow of the fairy lights.
To optimise the close-up shots I added some blur on the edge of the pictures. This gave the scenery some more depth and ensured that the focus is set on the right objects.
